Shalom! I am a stay-at-home-mom and self-taught artist who loves sharing scripture through art, writing, music, and other creative mediums. I love homemaking, sewing, outdoors, and coffee. My main passion is raising my two-year-old son to love Jesus with all his heart. I love to encourage other women and moms to pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus.
What to expect
I love to try to keep things simple and "back to basics." I hope that you find this site, blog, and products refreshing, encouraging, and calming.
Bible study time with Jesus is a very personal thing, so let me know of any scripture or product you'd like to see on our site. I'll see what I can do!
The devotionals and prayers are part of my own bible study adventures. I'm not an expert, though, so if you have any helpful constructive feedback, let me know!
Statement of Faith
Jesus is Lord!
At My Scripture Mug, we believe Jesus is the Son of God and the only way to salvation. He died for our sins, rose again, and is coming back for us!
Inerrant Word of God
All of scripture is God-breathed and applicable for us today. All of scripture points to Christ as the only way to salvation. Nothing should added or taken away from it. At my Scripture Mug blog, we may sometimes dive deeper into the original Hebrew or other language meaning, word, history, or context of the Scripture because while the original Word was inspired by the Holy Spirit, sadly translators are not. We are all just doing our best as translating across languages and cultures is an extremely complex and difficult task. It is worth taking a closer look at some of the original words. For example, an often-used word for love, "chesed," does not have any English equivalent.
We serve YHVH, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
It bugs me when people say things like, "I don't believe in god" or "I can't understand why people think any gods exists out there." I'm not interested in proving whether or not Ashera or Baal or whoever exists or not. Frankly, I couldn't care less. But if you ask me about MY God, I will answer specifically: He is God above All Gods, Creator of all Things, the God Israel. His name is YHVH and Yeshua is His Son. THAT I will defend... to the death if need be.

My calling is to help the Body of Christ fall in love with Scripture and apply it practically to everyday life.
I get it—I’m a stay-at-home mom myself. Time, money, and energy are scarce. But I serve a God who is just as interested in meeting me while I’m doing dishes and changing diapers as He is during altar calls and Evangelist tent meetings. It hit me one day that there’s no reason why I should think God is any different at home as He is in church.
“Come to me all you who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest.” In all my 20+ years of church experience, very rarely have I heard anyone admit that all the best sermons, spiritual books, Christian concerts, and pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps memes in the world will never be able to actually fulfill this verse. Jesus said to come to Him for rest.
And we wonder why the vast majority of the Body is still weary and burdened.
There’s a simple solution: start reading scripture for ourselves and applying it to our life. To start expecting God to show up at home just as much, if not more so, than at church.
Spiritual books, sermons, and concerts are great—don’t get me wrong! But they cannot take the place of the Holy Spirit. It’s time we set our expectations, hopes, and faith where they really, truly belong.
